Biscuit
Biscuit came in so matted we had to shave him down to bare skin. Six weeks later, he was asleep on Margaret and Tom's lap in Pasadena — the founding dog, the one who made Haven necessary.
Waffles
She was listed as "owner surrender, reason: too much grooming." The Okonkwos in Silver Lake adopted her inside two weeks — she now has a backyard, a sister dog, and a standing Saturday bath appointment.
Mochi
Nobody wanted a nine-year-old with cataracts. James and Priya Mehta did. Mochi has since logged roughly 1,400 hours on their couch in Santa Monica and shows no signs of slowing down.

Pepper
Pepper arrived from a hoarding case in Riverside — one of eleven. She is the quietest of the bunch, the one who sat apart and watched before deciding you were safe. She has since decided most people are safe.

Fig is seven, which means he has already figured out what matters: a warm body nearby, a soft surface beneath him, and meals at regular intervals. He would like to spend his remaining years being very comfortable.
